intoLondon.com was created in 1999 and was inspired by the creator's struggle to find accommodation when first moving to London. At the time the only real way of finding out about flats and rooms to rent was to consult the local press, which would tend to be totally unintuitive, only giving postcodes (meaningless to the newcomer) for locations. intoLondon solved that problem by introducing area guides and interactive maps. intoLondon is a small independant business and is still free to use after 11 years.

At the end of 2002, intoLondon introduced a few 'premium' services - a paid subscription to access the details of the very newest adverts ahead of the crowd and the option of a bold advert over the usual free 'plain' advert. intoLondon's success has been largely down to word of mouth and continues to grow month by month, giving room seekers an even wider range of properties. We offer the premium access to those who wish to pay for that extra service, but the core of our service is still free, as it should be.
